Overview
The SP10R is a 10-W photovoltaic power sources capable of recharging batteries. It is supplied with a regulator. The SP10R has a sufficient charging source for many of our system configurations in tropical to temperate latitudes. It allows unattended operation of systems in remote locations, far from AC electrical sources.

The SP10R solar panels are supplied with simple `U’ shaped brackets with a single `V’ bolt fitting for mounting on a pole in the size range of 25-54 mm diameter. The angle of the solar panel can be adjusted to be 0 to 90 degrees relative to the pole. If necessary the V-bolt fitting can be removed and the panel fixed to a vertical surface with screws. Optional band clamps are available to allow the brackets to be fitted to larger poles up to 120 mm in diameter.

The SP10R is supplied with a separate regulator module for the user to wire between the solar panel and a user supplied “recreational”, deep-cycle lead-acid battery. The regulator controls the output of the panel to prevent overcharging of the battery and reverse discharge at night. The charger supplied is designed for daily charging of flooded cell batteries.

Note: Solar panel characteristics assume 1 kW m-2 illumination and 25°C solar panel temperature. Individual panels may vary up to 10%. The output panel voltage increases as the panel temperature decreases.
