Two 4-20 ma Sensor on one Differential channel in CR1000

heman728 May 5, 2023 05:07 AM

Dear,

I Have CR1000 and only one Differential channel is left available. I want to connect 2 temperature sensors having 2 wire 4-20 ma output. I am using a two100 ohm resistor ( ±0.03%,2PPM) for current to voltage conversion. I am using a separate 24V Power supply. Can I measure 0-100 degree celsius at ±0.5°C accuracy on a single-ended channel?

Ground is common for External 24v supply and Campbell Differential Channel 3 ground.

You need two resistors wire them as separate SE voltage measurements.

I see your diagram. It not too clear. I think that you can measure 0-100 degree celsius at ±0.5°C accuracy on a single-ended channel. Just find more info on the Internet.

The differential measurement is effectively reading the voltage at both ends of the resistor and reporting the difference.
