Using CR1000 control port for regulating (switching on/off) current feed?

shishirbt Feb 16, 2018 05:16 PM

We are using a CR1000 for sapflux measurement wherein I want to keep the heating input only for short durations and not continuous.

Is it possible to route heating/voltage input through a control port on a datalogger -so when its 1 it provides current and when its 0 it doesn't?

I am not sure if the control ports are designed to accommodate power feed (~ 2.1 V) ?

The sapflux systems I have used allow a control port signal to switch on or off the voltage regulator. I worked with a system that was shut off during the night.

The way the sensors work, you need to keep a constant heating voltage on for quite a while to get a valid measurement.
