26432 EC155 Sample Cell with Heated Intake

Overview

The 26432 is the sample cell and intake assembly used with the EC155 Gas Analyzer (included with the CPEC200 system). A new version of the 26432 was released in January 2016 featuring several enhancements. Because of these enhancements, users may wish to replace their old sample cell and intake assembly with the new one. Installation and settings for the new 26432 are explained in the EC155 manual.

Foremost among the enhancements to the updated 26432 is the patented vortex intake (U.S. Pat. No. 9,217,692). This intake works by spinning incoming air into a vortex, forcing particulates to the outside of the vortex and out a bypass tube, while extracting clean air from the vortex's center and sending it to the gas analyzer's sample cell. This intake dramatically increases the time between maintenance visits compared with intakes using traditional in-line filters, which may clog quickly and require frequent replacment. Furthermore, the vortex intake retains near-constant frequency response, whereas traditional in-line filters experience degrading H2O frequency response as the filter becomes dirty.

In addition to the vortex intake, the updated 26432 includes these enhancements:

  • Absolute pressure sensor in the sample cell for improved measurement specifications and an expanded measurement range
  • Improved heated inlet design for better protection against condensation
  • Detachable intake for easy cleaning or replacement
  • Stainless-steel sample cell for increased corrosion resistance
  • Increased thermal damping and equilibration of sample air and cell block

Upgrading to the updated 26432 may take place when a user sends an EC155 in for factory service, or the user may order the 26432 and do an in-field replacement. Contact a Sales Engineer to arrange for an upgrade.
